The English Distillery – Original Single Malt English Whisky is a creamy and richly flavoured single malt from the UK’s oldest registered whisky distillery. A smooth and luxurious choice, this whisky has been expertly crafted since 2016.. The English core range features a triplet of English single malt whiskies – this is the Original expression, showing off a creamy, vanilla-rich flavour profile. Very accessible and a real crowd pleaser for both new whisky drinkers and those who want a gentler dram.. Nose. Light, fresh and fragrant. Sweet, soft, slightly spicy and welcoming. Gentle vanilla, fruity with hints of tropical fruits (lime zest, mango, dried apricots). Fresh cut grass. Slightly nutty with a hint of marzipan. Like a soft whipped vanilla ice cream.. Palate. Melts on the palate. Smooth but with a with a slight peppery spice tingle on the tongue. Fresh wood and vanilla, again with tropical fruits. Slightly nutty with a long malty finish. Finish is clean, dry and slightly salty.. Fully Matured in a combination of First Fill and Refill Bourbon Casks, Non-Chill Filtered, Natural Ingredients and Hand bottled. Awards. Filey Bay Double Oak Batch 2 is matured in a combination of virgin oak (adding fruit and spice) and bourbon casks (vanilla and toffee). It’s packed with flavours of sweet dried fruit, creamy vanilla malt, and sweet cinnamon spice flavours.. The previous bottling (Double Oak Batch 1) was awarded a coveted World Whisky Master in 2022 – the team have built on this success and produced a limited run of 2000 bottles of Batch 2.. The virgin oak brings fruity and spicy notes, whilst the ex-bourbon casks balance this with vanilla and toffee flavours. The selection process meant sampling across a range of 100 first-fill ex-bourbon casks. A number of these were then transferred into Virgin Oak casks, and regularly nosed and tasted for 13 months to find the perfect balance.

Lakes Infinity whisky is a new entrant to the Editions series, a whisky matured in a combination of 4 types of sherry casks: oloroso, palo cortado, fino, and manzanilla. The different casks produce an incredibly harmonious blend.. Rich and decadent with a dark chocolate and ginger nose with layers of caramel, toasted spices and well integrated oak. There is also a wonderful cakey, nutty flavour underpinned by butterscotch and pepper. And like it’s name the taste lingers for a wonderfully long time.. Cumbria hosts the Lakes Distillery, founded in 2011 by Paul Currie, co-founder of Isle of Arran Distillery. Situated within a renovated farmstead by River Derwent in a national park, they innovate due to limited space, using custom stills for whisky and a smaller one for Lakes Gin/Vodka. Whisky master Dhavall Ghandi joined in 2016, infusing tradition with fresh inspiration. The Lakes introduced The Whiskymaker’s Reserve in 2019, a series of single malts. Located near Penrith, it’s a gem of heritage and innovation.
