A blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir Tasmania has a superb climate for premium sparkling wines-indeed it is often cooler here during the growing season than it is in Champagne. But grow the business most certainly did and is now one of Australia’s most recognised brands. Traditional Champagne Grape Varieties of Chadonnay and Pinot Noir are bottle fermented to create this dry sparkling wine from Australia. Fresh with well rounded juicy citrus notes. High quality Cremant de Bourgogne that will help refresh any Christmas celebration.One of the oldest producers to come from the much hailed Chablis region, Simonnet-Febvre not only produces top quality Premier and Grand Cru Chablis, but is unique in that it is the only Chablis producer to create sparkling wine as well. Once you realise Simonnet-Febvre have been making sparkling wine since 1845 you realise that you are in very safe hands indeed. This sparkling wine is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes (the same as those used in Champagne) to create a well rounded, fresh and citrusy sparkling wine. Delicious- and excellent value.

A real step up from the ‘average’ Cremant de Loire. Fresh and elegant but with added complexity with lovely herb and summer flower aromas. The added complexity comes from the wine ‘resting’ in the cellars for at least 2 years before release. Whilst wine making and the vineyards can be traced back nearly 140 years, the Langlois name ‘only’ came into full existence in 1912. More recently in 1973 the Bollinger family bought a minority state and no doubt brought plenty of knowledge when it comes to making high quality sparkling wines. Langlois own 95 hectares of superb vineyards around Saumur, Sancerre and Saumur-Champigny. Fresh and yet deliciously complex. A blend of Chenin and Cabernet Franc .

A truly superb sparkling wine. If you are offering this to guests they will swear it’s Champagne. This proved to be hugely popular at our recent wines Masterclass. Extremely well balanced and re-freshing sparkling wine. There is a lovely balance between sweet and tart notes of Raspberry, Cherry and Strawberry with a crisp finish. Unusually for sparkling wines outside of Champagne, all three of the classic Champagne grapes have been used with the precise blend being 51% Chardonnay, 41% Pinot Noir and 8% Meunier. We cannot recommend this enough. Since 1986, J Vineyards & Winery has developed a reputation as on of the top sparkling and varietal wine producers in California. Based in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County ‘J’ has come to be known for its celebrated Estate Vineyards. Winemaker Nicole Hitchcock oversees the operation ensuring only the best fruit is used from this wonderful cool climate region. Highly, highly recommended. Tremendous quality.

Refined, creamy sparkling wine that offers a brilliant balance between chalky, fruity/floral and yeasty, bready notes. The mousse is extremely fine and the palate dry without being austere. With impressive richness on the finish, this is one of England’s most complete traditional method wines. The Liddell family have farmed at Cottonworth, in the Test Valley, for five generations. They planted their first vines in 2005, and the vineyard has grown ever since, along with Cottonworth’s reputation as a top-drawer sparkling wine producer. Before that, Hugh Liddell, who runs the wine side of the farm, worked and studied in Burgundy, and has since done vintages in South Africa and New Zealand as well as gaining a viticulture and oenology degree from Plumpton College, allowing him to be fully hands-on in the production of these exceptional wines. Notes of apricot, honeysuckle and brioche are perfectly balanced in this addition to the Belaire range. Can be sipped chilled or over ice, with fresh fruit as the perfect pairing- which appears to be very much in vogue at the moment with the Champagnoise and Sparkling Wine producers alike. Established in 1868 Maison Belaire has always strived to show the best of France. Consequently (and quite unusually) they are not tied to one single area or indeed a particular region. Instead they create their Rose in Provence much famed for producing Rose wines and produce the Blanc using only Chardonnay from Burgundy, home to the classic wines of Chablis. The philosophy is simple- use the grapes where they best originate from to make good quality refreshing sparkling wines. A richer style of Sparkling Wine.

Quite a delicate Prosecco served in an undoubtedly striking bottle. There are hints of peaches and flowers in the bouquet which are swiftly followed by a fresh, dry and velvety palate. Very, very drinkable. Bottega’s prosecco has hit the ground running over the last few years- the result partly because of its eye catching pressentation and partly due to the increasing interest in Prosecco in the UK. Whilst Prosecco is what it has become famous for, the Bottega Group started life in 1977 being renowned for the production of Grappa. It has taken much experimentation and a couple of generational changes (the estate is still run by the same family) to get Bottega to where they are today. Very, very moreish
