Last updated: 12 October 2026
These Terms apply to consumer purchases from dldrinks.com, operated by D. Lawrence Drinks & Cigars. Please read them before placing an order and keep a copy for your records.
1. About us
D. Lawrence Drinks & Cigars is operated by:
Legal business name: [insert company or sole trader’s full legal name]
Trading name: D. Lawrence Drinks & Cigars
Business address: [insert full address]
Company number: [insert if applicable]
VAT number: [insert if applicable]
Email: hello@dldrinks.com
Telephone: [insert business contact number]
These Terms cover purchases for personal use. Business or wholesale purchases require separate arrangements.
2. Age-restricted products
You must be at least 18 to purchase alcohol or tobacco products, including cigars, from us. A higher minimum age may apply in some destinations.
You must not purchase age-restricted products unlawfully on behalf of someone underage.
We may require age or identity verification before dispatch or at delivery. If the necessary checks cannot be completed, we may decline the order or withhold delivery and explain the next steps.
Any verification information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Product information
We aim to provide accurate descriptions, prices and photographs.
Packaging, labels and presentation may change between production batches. Photographs are illustrative, but goods supplied must match their description and meet applicable consumer standards.
If an important product detail changes before your order is accepted, we will contact you rather than substitute a materially different product without your agreement.
4. Prices and charges
Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website. Applicable taxes included in the price will be identified.
Delivery charges and any other charges payable to us will be shown before you complete your purchase. Any destination charges payable separately will be explained before ordering.
Promotional offers are subject to their stated conditions and availability.
5. Pricing errors
If we discover a pricing error before accepting your order, we will contact you with the correct price. You may choose to proceed at that price or cancel.
We will not charge a higher price without your agreement. If the order does not proceed, any payment taken will be refunded.
Once a contract has been formed, we will not simply change its price unilaterally.
6. Placing an order and acceptance
Please check your products, quantities, contact details and delivery address before submitting your order.
Your order is an offer to purchase. Our initial order confirmation email acknowledges receipt and does not, by itself, accept that offer.
We accept your order when we send a dispatch confirmation identifying the products dispatched. A contract is formed at that point for those products.
Before acceptance, we may decline an order for a genuine reason, such as:
- Unavailable stock.
- An unresolved pricing error.
- Failed payment or required verification.
- Reasonable concerns about fraud.
- Legal or delivery restrictions.
We will explain the issue where appropriate and refund any payment taken for goods we cannot supply.
After acceptance, we will not cancel arbitrarily. If a serious issue prevents fulfilment, we will contact you and explain the available options without limiting your statutory rights.
7. Payment
Available payment methods are shown at checkout.
You must be authorised to use your chosen payment method. By completing checkout, you authorise payment of the total displayed.
Orders must complete the required payment and verification checks before dispatch. Our Privacy Policy explains how payment-related information is handled.
8. Stock availability
If a product becomes unavailable, we will contact you about waiting for stock, an agreed alternative or a refund.
We will not substitute products without your agreement. Any proposed separate shipments and related charges will be explained before proceeding.
9. Delivery
We use DPD for deliveries under our current shipping arrangements. Available services, charges and estimated delivery times will be shown before purchase.
Please provide a complete and accurate address. Contact us promptly if you notice an error; changes may not be possible after dispatch.
Delivery estimates may be affected by disruption or customs checks. This does not remove your rights concerning late or failed delivery.
Unless a different delivery period is agreed, we will deliver without undue delay and within the period required by applicable law. For UK consumer contracts, this is normally no later than 30 days after the contract is made.
Where we arrange the courier, the goods remain our responsibility until you, or someone you nominate, takes physical possession of them.
Further details appear in our Shipping Policy.
10. International orders
We supply only destinations and products supported by our delivery and legal arrangements.
Alcohol and tobacco may be subject to specific import restrictions, tax requirements and age checks. Delivery availability does not mean every product can be supplied to every destination.
We will explain whether applicable duties and taxes are included in your checkout total or may be payable separately.
Our Customs & Import Duties page provides further information. We remain responsible for obligations that apply to us as the seller.
11. Cancellations and returns
For most online purchases, you may cancel without giving a reason until 14 calendar days after the day you receive your goods. You then normally have another 14 days to return them.
Certain legal exceptions apply, including some personalised, rapidly perishable or unsealed hygiene-sensitive goods.
To cancel, email hello@dldrinks.com with a clear statement of your decision and enough information to identify the order. You do not need a customer account or our approval to exercise a statutory cancellation right.
For change-of-mind returns, you pay the direct return cost where this was disclosed before purchase.
Our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy contains the full arrangements, refund rules and an optional cancellation form.
12. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any applicable purpose and as described.
If goods arrive damaged, are faulty or do not match your order, contact us. We will investigate and provide the remedy required in your circumstances.
Photographs and packaging can help, but your statutory rights do not depend on providing them.
We will arrange appropriate returns or cover reasonable return costs where goods are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.
13. Customer accounts
If you create an account, keep your login details confidential and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may restrict an account where reasonably necessary to protect against fraud, security threats or unlawful activity. This does not remove rights relating to existing purchases.
14. Using our website
Please do not misuse the website, introduce malicious software, attempt unauthorised access or interfere with other customers’ use.
Website content belongs to us or the relevant rights holders. You may view it and retain copies of your order documents and these Terms for personal use.
Other copying or commercial use requires permission unless permitted by law.
15. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Your statutory rights concerning goods.
- Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
These consumer Terms do not provide compensation for business losses arising from products bought for personal use.
16. Events outside our reasonable control
If an event outside our reasonable control affects an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and take reasonable steps to reduce its impact.
Such an event does not automatically remove your cancellation, refund or other statutory rights.
17. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. Our Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar technologies used on the website.
18. Complaints
Email hello@dldrinks.com with your order number and details of your concern.
We will review the matter in accordance with our Complaints & Resolution process. If applicable dispute-resolution information must be provided, we will supply it.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for future orders. The version provided when your contract is formed applies to that purchase, unless a change is required by law or expressly agreed with you.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Northern Ireland law.
If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections applicable in your country of residence. You may bring proceedings in any court available to you under applicable consumer law.
