Customs & Import Duties
Customs & Import Duties
At D. Lawrence Drinks & Cigars, we want you to understand any additional charges or restrictions before placing an order for delivery overseas.
We accept orders only for destinations and products that we are able to supply through our delivery arrangements.
Customs duties and taxes
Depending on the dispatch location, destination, products and shipping arrangements, your order may be subject to:
- Customs duties.
- Import VAT or other local taxes.
- Alcohol or tobacco excise duties.
- Courier clearance or handling fees.
Not every cross-border order attracts the same charges. Northern Ireland has specific arrangements for goods moving to Great Britain, Ireland and other European Union countries.
Are charges included?
Before you complete your purchase, we will explain whether applicable destination charges are included in your checkout total or may be payable separately.
Where charges are not included, the courier or relevant authority may request payment before releasing your parcel.
We will not describe a shipment as having duties and taxes paid unless that arrangement has been confirmed.
Alcohol and tobacco restrictions
Some destinations restrict or prohibit the delivery of alcohol and tobacco products, including cigars. Other destinations require specific registrations, tax arrangements or checks.
A delivery service being available does not necessarily mean every product can be shipped there.
If you are unsure whether we can supply a particular product to your country, contact us before ordering.
Before placing an international order
Please:
- Check that your destination and chosen products are supported at checkout.
- Read the information about included and separately payable charges.
- Provide accurate delivery and contact details.
- Check any recipient identification or import requirements relevant to your shipment.
We remain responsible for meeting the obligations that apply to us as the seller. This policy does not transfer those obligations to you.
Customs delays
Customs checks may affect delivery times. If further information or payment is required, follow the instructions provided by the courier or customs authority.
Contact us if you need help understanding a notification or your parcel appears to be delayed.
Refused or returned shipments
If a parcel cannot be delivered because of unpaid charges, import restrictions or a refusal to accept delivery, contact us so we can review the circumstances.
We will explain the available options and any proposed costs. Refunds and deductions will be assessed in accordance with your statutory rights and the terms disclosed before purchase.
We do not automatically deduct all outbound and return delivery costs from every refused shipment.
Country-specific information
Your destination’s customs or tax authority can explain local import rules and charges. We can help confirm the delivery arrangements available for your order.
Questions?
Email hello@dldrinks.com before ordering. Include:
